New boy Logan Chalmers admits he can’t wait to start laying on chances for Ayr’s strikers. The on loan Dundee United star – who made his debut from the bench against Caley – reckons he’s ideally suited to the attacking setup of Lee Bullen’s men.But after they dominated without reward against the Highlanders, Chalmers knows the pressure is already on him to deliver. He said: “We have to be more clinical in the final third with the amount of pressure we had.“It’s about the wide men putting good deliveries into the box.“It has to go in with quality for the strikers to take their chances and get us ahead.“I’ve not played in a while so I’m looking forward to coming here, getting games under my belt and some goals and assists.“All I ask for is an opportunity and it’s up to me to try and deliver something on the pitch.“If we keep doing what we’re doing and focus on creating the chances, the goals will definitely return for the team.”Ayr racked up an incredible 20 corners – 14 of them during a rain-hit first half – as they peppered the Caley box.But despite their superiority, they failed to press home the advantage.Sam Ashford headed off the bar before Mark McKenzie rolled a sitter wide from six yards with the best of their chances before the break. And United were made to pay shortly after half time when Cammy Harper rose to head home a Steven Boyd cross from the right.George Oakley almost doubled the lead soon after as Ayr struggled to regain their first half rhythm. But the introduction of Chalmers and fellow sub Jayden Mitchell-Lawson gave Ayr a renewed lift and both went close with efforts from outside the box.Harper then hooked clear on the line after a scramble in the box before Mitchell-Lawson had loud appeals for a penalty
