Drink drivers miraculously escape injury after M60 and M61 smashes

North West Motorway Police said occupants of two vehicles were lucky to have escaped injury after collisions on the M60 and M61.

Both drivers were found to be over the legal drink drive limit, police said. One collision involved a car which had crashed into another vehicle on the M61 on Saturday night.

The driver provided a road side breathalyser sample of 101. The legal limit is 35. They were arrested and taken to custody, police said. "The driver of this car crashed into another vehicle on the M61 SB," North West Motorway Police said.
