The thugs snapped a lock to break into the metal container, where around 20 benches were being kept.Volunteers discovered the benches had been removed when they arrived at the club's ground, in Eckersley Fold Lane, on Monday morning.They believe the vandals used the benches to build a bonfire, which they then 'burnt down to the ground'.A spokesperson for the club said: "We could see that there was a fire burning by the light reflecting on on our CCTV cameras."We then caught sight of what appeared to be a bench being dragged towards where the fire would be."It's demoralising and disheartening.
