Loyal customers have launched an appeal to support a popular bar after it suffered the latest in a series of burglaries. A safe containing more than £3,000 was stolen from The Cracked Actor in Stockport town centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Owner Joe Patten says it is the 'fourth or fifth' incident at the bar, which opened on Little Underbank last summer. The break in happened after a night when the bar's card machine wasn't working - meaning there was more cash on site than there typically would be.

Those responsible cut the electrics, so there is no CCTV from inside the premises. Joe says police came out but no fingerprints have been found at the scene.
