Coronation Street said goodbye to Bethany Platt on Wednesday night as she decided to accept an internship with a magazine in London.

She hence had to break up with Daniel Osborne who had attempted to propose to her but it didn’t go according to plan. Her decision was made after Daniel drunkenly popped the questions and she rejected him after he called her Sinead, the name of his late wife.

This moment rang a bell for fans who couldn’t resist but compare the scene to the moment Ross said Rachel’s name at the altar in one of the most iconic moments in Friends.

Bethany was already conflicted over whether or not to move to London with Daniel and his son Bertie but she felt he was still grieving for his wife who died from cervical cancer.
