And Dailly Community Council flashed the warning after they were alerted by a concerned resident. In a statement, the group said: “A concerned resident has brought to our attention that two men in hi-viz jackets entered a garden and appeared to be measuring the dimensions of a house, without obtaining permission.”Dailly Community Council said they contacted South Ayrshire Council in an attempt to confirm if the men were working on their behalf but were told the local authority had “not commissioned” any companies to undertake survey work in Wood Street.

However, the local authority has since issued a statement saying that government-approved workmen were in Wood Street and carrying out surveys of some properties. The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now on iOS and Android.A spokesperson said: “Survey works are taking place across South Ayrshire as part of the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficient Scotland: Area Based Scheme.“We can confirm that contractors were in Wood Street, Dailly, recently to survey properties, with a view to making the homes more energy efficient.”Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines –sign up to our free daily
