Coronavirus medics fear crucial PPE could run out this weekend at some hospitals

Medical chiefs have raised strong concerns that some hospitals could run out entirely of certain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) this weekend.

The warning comes as Public Health England (PHE) changed their guidance on Friday evening for healthcare workers treating patients with coronavirus.

While thousands of NHS staff have expressed fear that they feel unsafe on the frontline with 'inadequate' protection, they have now been asked to work without full-length gowns and to reuse items amid shortages of protective garments.
