Greater Manchester cops have recovered almost £1.2m for 33 victims of fraudsters in just four months. Some people have been duped by criminals exploting the coronavirus pandemic to make a quick buck.
Since January, £1.17m has been clawed back for victims. The money was traced by the force's Economic Crime Hub. Police chiefs say scammers' tactics are becoming 'increasingly sophisticated'.
