Comcast's European pay TV giant Sky has set an ambitious target to increase the diversity of its workforce. The company on Thursday announced that 20 percent of its employees in the U.K.
and Ireland are to be from Black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds by 2025, with at least a quarter of them being Black.
The target also applies for its leadership team, replicated for 300 leaders. The move follows a series of diversity commitments unveiled in June 2020 in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement following the murder of George Floyd in the U.S., included a promise to invest £10 million ($13.7 million) across its markets to improve the representation and progression of minority groups.
