A bright new addition to Perth’s High Street officially opened on Friday morning.And founder of independent coffee and food chain Bob & Berts is confident Fair City folk will enjoy the offering.The company has made a significant investment to transform the former BrightHouse store at 108 High Street - on the corner of King Edward Street - into a new coffee shop.It is said to reflect Bob & Berts’ relaxed and fun, family-friendly style and will employ 30 staff.The store, which has a striking blue and yellow exterior, is open from 8am until 9pm seven days a week.The Perth opening is part of expansion across Scotland, with additional premises now being sought in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness regions.The site is the company’s sixth in Scotland and further expansion is also planned across the UK in the coming months.Colin McClean, founder of Bob & Berts, was exciting to welcome customers at the end of last week.“We’ve put a lot into transforming this store into somewhere we can serve proper coffee and great grub to customers in Perth,” he explained to the PA.“We take huge care in selecting locations for our independent shops and we are confident the people of Perth will appreciate our distinctive relaxed style, slow batch hand-roasted arabica beans, and extensive hot food offering.”In addition to sit-in dining, Bob & Berts capitalised on a unique takeaway offering that includes a full cooked breakfast and coffee, attracting many first-time customers during the pandemic who have since become regulars.They also have a seating area outside the store on the High Street.Founded in Portstewart in Northern Ireland in 2013 by Mr McClean, Bob & Berts is known for its “distinctive style, quality offering and local community
