But even Siriano knows that with great power comes responsibility—and in this case, he wants to do his part. “Reuse is one of the best things we can do for the planet,” he tells Glamour. “But no one knows when clothes are thrifted because there is no visual identifier.”To that end, Siriano created with ThredUp the intended to be the first universal symbol for secondhand clothing.
Designed by the Project Runway winner, it's an iron-on patch made from 100% recycled textiles in the shape of a hanger aimed, as Siriano says, to “empower customers to wear thrifted clothes proudly and inspire others to be less wasteful.” Siriano also wants to make it.
