Championship preparing for 27 game season as October start proposal set to pass

Scottish Championship is set to pass on Monday morning, according to reports. BBC Sportsound revealed that eight out of the 10 current second-tier clubs pledged their support for a campaign with nine fewer games than a regular 36 game season in which every team plays each other four times.

Under the plans, the season will be pushed back to the middle of October to give clubs more time to prepare. It's thought that the financial impact of coronavirus testing and the possibility of having to play games without fans present have been the key reasons behind the delay and shortening of the season.
