Campaigners lose eight-year campaign to prevent Ayrshire housing plan

Ayrshire countryside have spoken of their dismay at learning proposals have been given the green light.The group appealed for 'common sense to prevail' in their eight-year battle to prevent two houses from being built on their back doorsteps.But their hopes were finally snuffed out on Thursday when South Ayrshire Council's planning committee agreed the development should go ahead.Since the plans were first unveiled eight years ago, residents in the Tarholm cluster of homes, near Annbank, have waged a long-running campaign against the proposals.The proposals, submitted by Stairhill Architecture Ltd, related to a planning application to build two houses on land just off the B744 between Glenview and Eastburn Cottage, south east of Tarholm.
