A business specialist prosecuted in the wake of the sale of Rangers has lost a bid to secure £2million damages from police – without evidence being heard.Consultant David Grier, 57, launched a claim against Police Scotland’s Chief Constable.Grier, of London, was arrested in 2014 following a change in control at Ibrox two years earlier, when Craig Whyte bought out Sir David Murray for £1.He was charged but later cleared of any wrongdoing following an abortive prosecution.The former administrators at Rangers, David Whitehouse and Paul Clark are pursuing separate cases against the police and are also suing the Lord Advocate.Grier’s lawyers sought summary decree against the Chief Constable which, if successful, would have left only the amount
