Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.
Amanda Holden
Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Britain's Got Talent format shake up – everything you need to know ahead of new series

Britain’s Got Talent returns to our screens this weekend and there’s a whole new format. After two years off screen, the ITV competition will return on Saturday 16 April as Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden search for the next big talented star.

The long-running show has introduced a new segment to make the show more exciting for fans, called Golden Moments. In the special new segment, the judges will surprise a member of the public who has been nominated to appear on the show by family or friends.

He said: "There's also something new to look forward to this year, it's called Golden Moments, where each judge surprises an unsuspecting act that's been nominated without their knowledge and invites them to interview on our iconic stage at the London Palladium." Simon Cowell revealed that the idea for the new feature on the show came from surprising a class of school children as the teacher had applied on behalf of the children to Britain’s Got Talent. "The idea came about because a couple of years ago, it was like – there wasn't any sort of great plan, just someone said to me, will you go to this school and tell the school kids that they actually are going to be on Britain's Got Talent because they didn't know," he explained to The Mirror. "I turned up at the school, they had no idea what was going on and I said to them, your teacher has applied for you to be on the show.
