BrewDog hand sanitiser turned down by Scots hospital for 'not meeting clinical standards'

Beer giants BrewDog have had to go back to the drawing board on its hand sanitiser after the first batch was turned down by a Scots hospital.

The firm rolled out its "Punk Sanitiser" last month, which was given out to charities and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary amid the battle against coronavirus.

The product was made up of 68% alcohol, much more than the 60% recommended by the Health and Safety Executive. After handing over the bottles NHS Grampian turned them down as the gels failed to reach clinical standards.

Bosses at the Aberdeenshire-based company are said to be working to overcome "technical issues" with their hand sanitiser. As reported by The Guardian, a spokesperson for the health board said: "We are very grateful for the offer
