Police shut down the road for several hours this afternoon and crime scene investigators combed the road. Officers arrested an 18-year-old on suspicion of section 18 assault.Ambulances, including an air ambulance, were scrambled to the scene and took the child to Manchester Children's Hospital, where he was described as in a stable condition on Saturday night.He has now been discharged from hospital.Residents on the street were left in shock, but the police insisted the stabbing was an 'isolated incident' posing no wider threat.Detective Superintendent Joanne Rawlinson said yesterday: “No child should ever be the victim of such a distressing incident and my thoughts are with this young boy and his family as he receives medical treatment in.
