A Bolton secondary school has shut after the parents of a pupil tested positive for coronavirus. Parents with children at Ladybridge High School in Deane were told the school was closing from today (Tuesday).

It will remain shut for two days while a deep clean is carried out. In a post on its Facebook page on Tuesday morning, the school said: “IMPORTANT: It has been confirmed that parents of a learner have tested positive for Coronavirus. “The school will be closed for the next 2 days, while it undergoes a deep clean. “Please check the website daily for any further updates. “Thankyou for your support.” Earlier on Tuesday, the school had posted to say they would be closed as they did not have enough staff ‘to keep learners safe’.
