The schools in Newmains were the most important issue of all for my dad.“He had really been campaigning for them for the past 13 or 14 years and wanted the kids here to have the best possible facilities.“I remember him saying to me if he could just get the schools sorted he would retire quite happily, there was nothing he wanted more.“But I did feel very proud and it’s great to know that the kids and the teachers of both schools will be able to enjoy.
