Officers were called to 'reports of a concern for welfare' on Amos Street at around 8am this morning (Thursday). They found a man with serious injuries to his head.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a serious, but stable condition. A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, police said.
A cordon remains in place at the end of Amos Street this afternoon. A small section of the road, near a car parking area and the back of a school field, has been taped off.
