Anger as parents told about head lice outbreaks... but kept in dark on Covid cases

Since NHS Test and Trace took over the responsibility of contact tracing from schools, families are no longer routinely informed about confirmed cases.

While many mums and dads have welcomed the changes - which mean large bubbles of kids no longer need to isolate - there are concerns that parents aren't being kept fully in the picture.

The matter was raised by Dr Nisreen Alwan, an associate professor in public health, who has been raising awareness of the impact of long Covid on children.
