Amber Heard ’s lawyer has spoken out about the damages the actress has been ordered to pay Johnny Depp, and said her client can “absolutely not” afford the $10 million.
Yesterday, Wednesday 1 June, the jury ruled in Johnny’s favour after just 13 hours of deliberation. The Murder on the Orient Express actor went on to be awarded $15million in damages – $10m (£8m) in compensatory damages and $5m in punitive damages.
Meanwhile, the jury ruled actress Amber's defamation claims against Johnny Depp were unproven. Following the explosive six-week trial, Amber’s lawyer Elaine Charlson Bredehoft featured on NBC’s Today to discuss the result, where she was asked about the money Amber now owes her ex-husband.
