Two of Alex Salmond’s accusers have complained to the police about “threatening” comments by a pro-independence supporter. The women contacted Police Scotland after Mark Hirst claimed the “precious anonymity” of the Salmond complainants may not continue.
The former first minister was cleared after nine women accused him of sexual assault, including an attempted rape charge. It is a criminal offence to publish the identities of the women.
However, in a YouTube video Hirst said: “I suspect very strongly that as this rumbles on, that precious anonymity they’ve sought will not be continued.“Because these women, and not just these women, some of the people involved in this are senior members of the Scottish Government.” The Salmond hardliner
