A driver on a 'totally non-essential' journey ran off after crashing into a tree, police say. And when the emergency services turned up the passengers who'd been left behind gave them a 'hard time'.

The crash took place on Bramhall Lane South in Stockport at 1am on Saturday. All non-essential journeys are banned during the coroanvirus lockdown.

CCTV footage from the scene shows the Vauxhall Corsa career off the road before hitting a tree. A few seconds later two men can be seen running off across a field.
