17 headstones damaged in 'shocking and upsetting' cemetery vandal attack

Police are investigating after 17 headstones at a cemetery were destroyed or damaged in a sickening act of vandalism. An MP has labelled the attack 'shocking and upsetting'.

Council bosses in Cheshire said the vandals 'specifically targeted' graves with headstones featuring crosses and angels. Personal items left on graves, like flower pots and ornaments, were also damaged, reports Cheshire Live.

Images show heavy stone crosses were overturned. Police were called to reports of criminal damage at Kingsley Cemetery, on Hollow Lane in Kingsley, Cheshire, last Friday, October 22.
