Yifei Liu was the embodiment of a real-life Disney princess at the Mulan premiere on Monday night. The Chinese actress takes on the titular role in director Niki Caro’s upcoming live-action remake of the 1998 animated classic of the same name, with the film following a young maiden who disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father.
Stepping out at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the feature’s debut, Liu dazzled in a strapless gold ballgown with a long train and delicate embroidery from Elie Saab.
She accessorised the look with Chaumet jewellery, and had her hair styled into tumbling waves. Ming-Na Wen, who voiced Mulan in the original movie, also opted for a dramatic ballgown for the night.
