East Ayrshire's ageing population is one of the driving factors behind a new Kilmarnock housing project.Work on building 43 new council houses in the town centre is to get underway this month, the council has confirmed.The new homes are to be built at Witch Road/Witchhill Place are aimed at being suitable for older disabled residents.Housing chiefs are constructing the one and two-bed sized bungalows as a direct response to a forecast that could see the number of pensionable-aged people in East Ayrshire increase by 18.5 per cent between 2016 and 2041.The new homes will fill the barren landscape left behind by social housing stock that was demolished last year.And the houses will feature a private garden area and seating outside the.
