Woman struck and dog killed by car in horror hit and run

A 21-year-old woman pedestrian suffered serious injuries and her dog was killed in a hit and run horror incident in Ayrshire.Police have appealed for witnesses after a red Vaxuall Astra VXR struck the woman and her pet on the B742, between Mossblown and Annbank, about 3.15pm on Saturday.The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and resulted in her dog being killed.Police believe the vehicle involved, a red Vauxhall Astra VXR, with two men on-board, sped off towards  Annbank.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who saw the vehicle before or after to get in touch.Constable Greg Norwood from the Ayrshire Road Policing Unit based at Irvine, said: “This was a traumatic experience for the woman
