Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by car near Glasgow's Botanic Gardens

Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Emergency services raced to Great Western Road around 5.15pm tonight to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

A woman has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the incident. The extent of her injuries are not yet known.Police officers remain on the scene and the road is currently closed northbound.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 5.15pm to report of a road traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Great Western Road, Glasgow, near the entrance to the Botanic Gardens."A woman who was the pedestrian has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."Officers are currently at the scene." Cyclist knocked down by car outside Edinburgh pub as cops launch probe
Edinburgh last night. The woman was travelling south west on Lanark Road, near Tanners Lounge and Bar, when a White Audi A1 travelling in the same direction collided with the bike at around 4.45pm on Thursday, June 24.The collision caused the 57-year-old cyclist to fall to the ground and she required medical treatment for minor injuries.The vehicle stopped and the driver assisted the cyclist along with a passer-by who did not leave their contact details.Officers would like to speak to any witnesses and are appealing for information.
