Two rushed to hospital after major crash on busy Edinburgh road

Edinburgh this afternoon. Emergency services raced to Duddingston Park South in Edinburgh around 3pm to reports of a major crash involving two vehicles.

One car smashed into a roadside electrical box and then through a nearby fence following the collision as ambulance, fire and police officers rushed to the scene.

The junction which connects to the Fort Kinnaird shopping centre via Duddingston Park South and Niddrie Mains Road was closed as officers dealt with the collision.

Two people were rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment. The extent of their injuries are not yet known.One driver has since been charged with careless driving.Motorists were urged to avoid the area at the time and the road has since reopened.A Police Scotland.
