The incident happened at the Bury line tram stop at around 2.40pm on Saturday (May 15). Witness Liv Bridge was walking down the platform steps when she noticed a man shouting and banging on the tram windows.

The 26-year-old says he turned and started running towards her and another woman, gesturing at them to fight. He then threw his arms around the young woman’s neck and pushed her backwards towards the stairs.
