West Lothian clubs had a less than stellar weekend in East of Scotland League Cup action.Broxburn Athletic made it two wins from two as goals from Dan Nimmo and Andy Mair gave them a 2-0 away victory at Coldstream as they followed up last week’s stunning 10-2 triumph over Craigroyston with three points to put them firmly in control of their own destiny as they look to qualify for the last 16.However, that was as good as it got for our clubs with five Conference X sides combining for a single draw and four defeats although there were many fine performances.Armadale Thistle caused an upset of sorts as they travelled to First Division mid-table outfit Thornton Hibs and returned to West Lothian with a credible 2-2 draw.Robbie Feeney and an own goal had put the Dale two up after an hour but a brace from John Soutar, including an injury-time equaliser, meant it would be honours even in Fife.Elsewhere, there was a spirited effort from Stoneyburn as they were edged out 1-0 at home to Premier Division side Dunbar United with Jamie Devlin netting the only goal of the contest early in the second half.An eventful game at Station Park saw eight goals, four penalties and two red cards as Livingston United went down 5-3 at home to Arniston Rangers.Hassan Nyang opened the scoring for the hosts before a Michael Kennedy treble – including two penalties – put Rangers 3-1 to the good.Harry Osborne reduced the arrears for United with a penalty of their own, only for Ryan Moore to open up a two goal advantage once more for the visitors.Jeremiah Otonti got Livi back into the contest but they would concede a third penalty late on which Moore duly dispatched to complete the scoring in a thrilling contest.Fauldhouse United welcomed First Division
