Tricia Tuttle will step down as BFI Festivals Director following this year’s London Film Festival, the BFI announced today. She will remain in post through to early 2023 while the BFI recruits a replacement.

GREAT British Bake Off contestant Dan Chambers starred in the 10th season of the beloved baking competition, but has recently slammed the judge's decision for sending him home. In 2019, Dan Chambers joined a batch of hopeful contestants hoping to be crowned the Great British Bake Off champion. He showed off his baking skills to make it to the end of the Channel 4 competition, but sadly Dan was booted from the show in week one after having "raw" buttercream.

Fat Joe has sued his longtime accountants accusing them of fraudulent activities that have resulted in millions of dollars being misappropriated.The rapper, real name Joseph Cartagena, had been working with accounting firm BDO USA for about a decade before he became aware of what he describes as “a slew of irregularities”. His lawsuit targets the company as well as his specific accountant, Andre N Chammas, and an account executive called Vanessa Rodriguez.According to the lawsuit filed last week, those “irregularities” include “numerous delinquent and unpaid mortgage and bill payments; the booking of revenues that were never deposited into plaintiffs’ accounts; discrepancies in the amount of money that plaintiffs have paid to BDO for services rendered; payments to unauthorised American Express accounts that are not Cartagena’s; and payments to Cartagena’s American Express account from unrecognised bank accounts”.The legal filing adds that, when Cartagena asked BDO about the various irregularities, the accounting firm “ignored his pleas or made up stories to cover their trail.

Helen Flanagan may be a mum of three young children, but if rumours are to be believed, she’s made time in her schedule to take part in I’m A Celebrity All Stars, which will see some of our favourite celebrities from the past 20 years have another go at roughing it in the great outdoors. This was due to one particular line in the second verse: “Once a whore, you’re nothing more, I’m sorry that’ll never change.”Two years later Williams reaffirmed her stance on the controversial lyrics of Paramore‘s breakout hit, saying: “I know it’s one of the band’s biggest songs but it shouldn’t be used to promote anything having to do with female empowerment or solidarity.”Earlier this year, however, she joined Billie Eilish on stage at Coachella to perform the song, revealing recently to The Guardian that she tried to talk Eilish out of performing the cover.

Jason Bateman has revealed that he nearly ran over Michael Jackson while working on a show in the ’80s.The Ozark star appeared in TV show Silver Spoons in the early part of the decade, and explained in a new interview that he and co-star Rick Schroder almost hit Jackson with their bikes while the singer was visiting the set.“This is while we were doing Silver Spoons at Universal and we’d need to have our bikes because kids gotta play. Michael was there to see [Schroder],” he revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live.Bateman then gave an uneasy look to the audience, who responded awkwardly, seemingly in reference to child sexual abuse allegations against Jackson.“I don’t — listen, hey! He was a fan of the show and a fan of the Ricker!” Bateman then said, before adding to his story: “[Jackson] was coming onto the stage while we were zooming off and almost took him down.”It comes after Bateman spoke earlier this year about his “lost decade” in the ’90s where he spent a lot of time partying.“It was a combination,” he explained to The Guardian about why he decided to trade acting for hedonism.

Alice Diop’s “Saint Omer” has scored U.S. distribution with Neon’s boutique label Super after making its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, where it won two major competition awards.Super will release the film in theaters, following its U.S.

Pat Saperstein Deputy Editor Super, the boutique distribution label from Neon, has acquired U.S. rights to Alice Diop’s “Saint Omer” after it won the Silver Lion Grand Jury prize in Venice along with the Luigi De Laurentiis Lion of the Future award. “Saint Omer” was recently shortlisted for France’s submission to the Academy Awards and will premiere at the New York Film Festival and play the BFI London Festival. Neon plans a theatrical release. “Saint Omer” is Diop’s debut fiction feature, which she co-wrote with Amrita David and Marie NDiaye, and it stars Kayije Kagame, Guslagie Malanda, Valérie Dréville and Aurélia Petit. Toufik Ayadi and Christophe Barral of Srab Films produced alongside Arte France Cinéma and Pictanovo Hauts-de-France.

The Snuts have spoken about touring with Kings Of Leon, as well as the influence that Arctic Monkeys have had on the band.The West Lothian band’s frontman Jack Cochrane spoke to NME about their new album ‘Burn The Empire’ in a new interview published yesterday (September 13), and recalls being blown away by the experience of touring with the Followill brothers.“I remember listening to Kings Of Leon when I was playing FIFA in 2004. Jessica Kiang In 2016, in the courtroom of Saint-Omer, a small, untouristed town off a D-road between Calais and Lille, the trial took place of a young Senegalese Frenchwoman accused of murdering her baby: an act so utterly antithetical to accepted ideas of motherhood and womanhood that it is inescapably considered the “worst of all possible crimes.” The woman, a PhD student with a reported genius IQ and a flair for flamboyantly intellectual French, confessed but claimed sorcery as the real culprit. It’s the kind of true story that presents an obvious opportunity for a sensitive social drama given to sober, sorrowfully objective observations about the perilous, tumbling vortex of class, gender, ethnic and cultural issues in which it plays out. “Saint Omer,” the deceptively austere, extraordinarily multifaceted fiction debut from documentarian Alice Diop, is not that film. 

Loneliness, postpartum-depression, motherhood, and isolation are at the core of Alice Diop’s feature film premiering at Venice, Saint Omer. Written by Diop and Marie N’Diaye, the movie stars Kayije Kagame and Guslagie Malanga. The film sends a message about the pressures of being a single parent and how women connect through trauma.
