UEFA have confirmed that the SFA and SPFL have asked for guidance on ending the season early, stating that the Premiership can be declared over if government rules or financial issues make playing on impossible.

An SPFL resolution brought the lower leagues to an end and handed the governing body the power to crown Celtic champions in the top flight.

However, UEFA had threatened European bans for countries where the season was not completed and appeals were made for guidance.
