Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

The suggestion was mooted by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson's spokesman, on Wednesday.He said: “Matters of public health are devolved, so it is a theoretical possibility that the position could be different in different parts of the UK.”At Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons, Boris Johnson said the rule was under constant review and as the incidence of coronavirus declined and “the statistical likelihood of being infected – no matter how close or far you are from somebody who may or may not have coronavirus – goes down”.Mr Johnson is under pressure to reduce the distance in order to help businesses reopen amid concerns.
