Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.

ok.co.ukTom Parker’s widow Kelsey has thanked Ed Sheeran for contributing to her having more time with The Wanted star before he passed away.The 32 year old praised the singer for his help in paying for Tom’s medical bills as she appeared on Lorraine on Tuesday.Tom died aged 33 on 30 March from an inoperable brain tumour after being diagnosed in 2020.

Kelsey took the time to openly thank Ed during her interview as she said: “Ed was just amazing, just an unbelievable person. “He was at the Summertime Ball at the weekend and I actually got him a gift of some crystals, because I’m like, what do you get someone who’s got everything?
But I just wanted to say thank you. What he did for us, for our family, gave me more time with Tom.” Earlier this month, Kelsey shared a touching clip of her and Tom’s daughter Aurelia, two, hugging a copy of his book which has his face printed on the cover. “Whenever she sees (pictures of) her dad, she’s like ‘It’s my dad!,'” she continued.
