The five worst streets in Salford for fly-tipping have been revealed. Liverpool Road in Eccles received the most reports of fly-tips - 54 - last year, according to a new council report.

Lower Broughton Road came second with 41 reports, followed by Romney Street with 37 in Charlestown. Rounding up the worst five streets for the most number of reports are Langworthy Road and Winifred Street in Eccles - both with 32 reports.

The council document - which went to today’s community and neighbourhoods scrutiny panel - also showed that the rate of fly-tipping in the city has increased by just under 2 percent since 2018.

That year, there were 5990 recorded fly-tipping incidents. But it rose to 6104 in 2019. Nevertheless, the picture in Salford
