A tougher tier system is reportedly set to be brought in when the national restrictions, with more areas expected to be placed in the highest tiers and under the strictest measures.

Greater Manchester, which was in Tier 3 when the national lockdown came into force, may well find itself back under the toughest restrictions when lockdown ends on December 2.Rates in the region are falling, but are still at 331.6 per 100,000 people in Greater Manchester as an average compared with England's overall average rate of 239.9.Under the highest tier restrictions, shops, gyms and hairdressers are expected to stay open, but more pubs and restaurants may have to close.The stricter rules are expected to be relaxed for between three and five days over.
