The Strokes notch their first No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts since 2011, as The New Abnormal bows atop both surveys dated April 25.The New Abnormal debuts with 35,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending April 16, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Of that sum, 23,000 units are via album sales.The set is The Strokes' first to rule Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums since Angles, which debuted atop both lists in April 2011.

In between, 2013's Comedown Machine, the band's most recent LP until the new release, debuted at No. 3 on both surveys.On the all-format Billboard 200, The New Abnormal begins at No.
