Texas mom, boyfriend charged in 8-year-old boy's murder as disturbing details emerge

A Texas mother and her boyfriend have been arrested and charged in the murder of the woman's 8-year-old son. The Irving Police Department arrested Leslie Curtis, 29, and her boyfriend Codie McCrory, 30, on Friday after they were dispatched to an unconscious person call and found the boy, Delmor Best-Curtis, lying on a bed "unresponsive" at the Magnuson Hotel, authorities said in a press release. "Officers quickly observed bruising, cuts, burns and bite marks all over the victim's body," an affidavit obtained by Fox News states. "The victim had blood on his head, facial swelling and an obviously broken arm." Curtis and McCrory, who had been in a relationship for less than a year, abused the boy for at least 10 days.The couple was living at.

A Tennessee woman faces charges after she allegedly stole and then crashed a police cruiser that she was allowed to sit inside while her house was on fire Tuesday afternoon, reports said. The woman was placed inside the cruiser after police said they found her distraught and shivering outside of her home in Kingston Springs, which is outside of Nashville, affiliate FOX 17 reported.  She was identified as a 64-year-old woman.

A Florida man was seriously injured after he apparently set himself on fire while allegedly trying to torch a home in the Tampa area on Sunday morning, according to a report.  The suspect, Scott Anthony Massa, 51, allegedly broke a window and dumped a bucket of accelerant into the residence, which ignited and set him ablaze, Fox 13 of Tampa Bay reported.  Massa allegedly fled the scene and was detained after an officer spotted him at Tampa's St. Joseph’s Hospital, the report said.
