A school trip that was due to travel home from an airport in northern Italy this weekend has been forced to change its plans after a nationwide lockdown was enforced, amid the spread of coronavirus.
Staff and pupils from Brabyns Preparatory School in Marple flew to Turin Airport last Saturday for a week-long ski trip in La Plagne, France.
The group was due to fly home this coming Saturday via the same airport. On Monday, however, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced a nationwide 'lockdown' which includes travel restrictions and a ban on public gatherings.
