Holidaymakers with trips booked to Spain are being warned after flights to one of the country's major hotspots were all cancelled.

The airport on the Spanish island of La Palma closed last week as a result of a huge cloud of ash spewing from a volcanic eruption.

Operators say plane traffic was suspended, with some airlines cancelling flights in Tenerife Norte, Tenerife Sur and La Gomera.
