Some Premier League games could be shown on free-to-air television when it returns, the country's sports minister said tonight.

Work is currently ongoing to try and get elite sport, including top-level football, recommenced behind closed doors by the middle of next month.

Currently, subscription broadcasters Sky and BT Sport have the rights to exclusively show live Premier League games in the UK in a deal worth a reported three billion pounds.

However with fans shut out and pubs - where many fans watch games - currently closed there have been calls for games to be shown on free-to air TV when it does return to make sure all fans can tune in.
