So much so that a handy trick for softening the stuff quickly has gone down a storm. And it turns out all you need is a warm glass.

Dump the water out and flip it over your stick of butter. In a few minutes it will be perfectly soft to use! "You're welcome!" Thousands of people have praised the idea and the post has been shared 48,000 times in the last three days alone. "Great tip since I forget to take it out early in the day," said one. "I’ve been doing this for a while now.
