Manchester City's recent transfer record suggests they will prioritise a move for Erling Haaland this summer rather than return for Harry Kane, according to former Blues winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.
City wanted to sign Kane last summer but Tottenham refused to do business and the Blues were forced to go into the current season without a recognised striker.
Since then, they have thrived with a rotating false nine, and remain in the hunt for a treble. Argentinian forward Julian Alvarez was signed in January and will join the pre-season squad in the summer.
Wright-Phillips, however, believes another striker should still be targeted this summer. And if it comes down to a choice between Haaland and Kane, he thinks the younger man is likely to be prioritised given the profile of signing City usually target.
