A second pre-inquest review has been opened into the death of a teenager who died in a crash after reportedly failing to stop for police.

Devonte Scott, 18, was driving a Ford Fiesta which hit two cars in Stretford on May 16 last year. In an initial pre-inquest review, Chris Morris, Area Coroner for Greater Manchester South, provisionally listed a five-day inquest for August 8 and said 'consideration' of a jury would be deferred to a later date.

In a further pre-inquest hearing today (July 22) Senior Coroner Alison Mutch thanked attending family for watching footage from the accident.

She said: "It could not have been easy for you to spend an afternoon in this way, but it is important that you have the opportunity."
