Atalanta captain Alejandro Gomez has sent a coronavirus warning to the football world, as he worries playing European matches contributed to its spread in Bergamo.
The Serie A side faced Valencia at San Siro in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 match, before travelling to Spain to play the return behind closed doors.
Football across Europe has now been stopped to try and stop large crowds transmitting the disease. Just 11 days ago Rangers faced Bayer Leverkusen in front of a full house at Ibrox and Gomez worries similar large crowds might be behind the spread in Bergamo, which has become the epicentre of the European outbreak.
