Scots pensioner, 81, climbs height of Mount Everest to raise cash for hospice

end-of-life hospice. Brave Angus Whyte has now climbed Ben Ledi 12 times - the same height as the world’s highest mountain - and is over the moon to have raised £4,000.

The 81-year-old is no stranger to a physical challenge having completed the London Marathon in 1982 aged 42.His latest mission initially started as a way to cope with lockdown before Angus decided to give back to the Strathcarron hospice in Denny.

Angus, from Dunblane, said: "With Covid-19 restrictions, I was looking to do something helpful outdoors, that would benefit the community and me with exercise.
