downpours and strong winds are set to batter parts of Scotland this week as Storm Francis sweeps over the country.The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain on Tuesday and early Wednesday.Forecasters are anticipating floods and gusts of around 50mph in south-west Scotland, Central, Tayside and Fife, Grampian, Lothian Borders and Strathclyde as the latest storms descends on the UK.
The bad conditions could cause heavy disruption on the roads and on public transport, while some communities may be cut off by flooded streets.It comes after Storm Ellen battered the country with torrential rain and wind as it swept in from the Atlantic.This week, rainfall is to reach 20-40 mm, with as much as 60-90 mm for parts of south-west.
