Skye. Cath Bain, 39, was visiting family on Skye when she decided to take a boat trip out from Portree earlier this month. The mechanical engineer, who works at a maltings in Buckie, said the Stardust Boat Trips crew were given a tip-off from a shore-based watcher that the whale may be in the waters at the Sound of Raasay.

Cath said: "I messaged a friend and she found a couple of videos taken 30 mins earlier and by showing the boat crew them we figured out where the Humpback whale had been."After waiting for about 20 to 30 mins we didn't see it, so we were carrying on with the trip when I spotted a massive blow from a Whale and when we went to investigate we found the Humpback."
